As of tomorrow we will have been on our agency's waiting list officially for five months. I was telling another couple this weekend that up until this point I tried not to get anxious and just accept that the process is what it is. However, now I'm getting antsy! Good thing life is keeping us busy....
This weekend we became $3,700 richer in that we didn't have to spend $3,700 to take down a huge oak tree. A limb the size of a small tree came down Thursday and ever since then I've been fielding arborists and tree dudes. After two arborists told us the tree is fine I'm satisfied — and those goons who tried to scam us can stuff it! The ordeal caused me to miss my local adoption group meeting, but hopefully I'll make it next month. — Sarah

- Although we began talking about adoption when we first met in 2000, the process started in November 2006 with our first batch of paperwork. We were added to the official waiting list on March 14, 2007. It was estimated at that time that we'd be "matched" with a child 10-12 months from that date. 14 months later, we were referred for an almost 2-month-old baby boy on May 14, 2008. He's the most beautiful child in the entire world... seriously, he is. Join us as we - and our two dogs and one cat - embrace this life-changing event.
