A few days after Halloween I tore through Target and got an adorable skunk costume for 50% off. I'm so excited. There were tons of other really cute ones, but my mom was there to make me practice restraint.
On the adoption front, our application still hasn't moved up the chain at all. I'm guessing we've been in the same position since mid-June, but I could be wrong about that. I try not to read every e-mail update that comes from the agency because it's just too dang depressing. The wait is really hitting me now. In the beginning I vowed to be tough because this entire process is out of my control, but that's so hard.
I promise to write more soon (Might not get around to it this weekend, though - I'm covering a HUGE Indian wedding complete with an elephant). Sorry we've been so lax about posting.
*** Oh, and a quick clarification.... a "lurker" made reference in a recent post about a stinky Milton. That's our cat, who, by the way, is black and white like a skunk! - Sarah

- Although we began talking about adoption when we first met in 2000, the process started in November 2006 with our first batch of paperwork. We were added to the official waiting list on March 14, 2007. It was estimated at that time that we'd be "matched" with a child 10-12 months from that date. 14 months later, we were referred for an almost 2-month-old baby boy on May 14, 2008. He's the most beautiful child in the entire world... seriously, he is. Join us as we - and our two dogs and one cat - embrace this life-changing event.

I feel you on the wait, I have had the HARDEST WEEK. I'm so sick or checking the weekly emails only to be sorely dissapointed! UHH I want my "babe." Wow a wedding with an ELEPHANT!!!! Luck you. What publication do you work for? I tried to click on the link a couple of posts ago, but it doesn't link.
Anyways...Happy waiting..Uhhh.
I did listen in on the confrence phone call today with WHFC about the "no kids in public issue" it was interesting. Where you listening?

Waiting really stinks! Some days it just makes me feel more than a bit crazy.
I really have a lot of questions regarding the wedding with an elephant (exact role of the elephant, storage, presentation, etc), so please let us know how that goes.
