We're Our Own Family Now
If you're like us and you said "NO" to traveling - even across town - this holiday season, check out this article on Babble. The solidarity will make those guilt trips bounce right off you!

We use the same rule. Since Avery was born, we have refused to be in any house besides our own on Christmas morning. It has given us the chance to create our own family traditions on Christmas Eve and Christmas day and just enjoy each other. I hope you had a wonderful first Christmas with your son!
Although we began talking about adoption when we first met in 2000, the process started in November 2006 with our first batch of paperwork. We were added to the official waiting list on March 14, 2007. It was estimated at that time that we'd be "matched" with a child 10-12 months from that date. 14 months later, we were referred for an almost 2-month-old baby boy on May 14, 2008. He's the most beautiful child in the entire world... seriously, he is. Join us as we - and our two dogs and one cat - embrace this life-changing event.
