Sweet Faces

One of the ladies from our adoption agency recently returned from traveling with a group of families to Ethiopia. Yesterday and today she e-mailed slideshows from her travels (sorry, we're not able to post them online for privacy reasons) and I was awestruck by the children's beautiful faces. Even more so beautiful were there smiles — and they all seemed to be smiling. It made me feel so good to know that where they're staying is clean, safe and full of caring people.

Some photos that stood out were during a trip to the beauty shop for the older kids (I'm guessing this was gifted by the agency or some of the families that were there). It's amazing what joy some braids can bring a young teen. A picture of a young child looking at a photo album that I think his adoptive parents had sent over prior to their arrival also brought tears to my eyes. The little guy picked up the album and kissed his family's faces. It took my breath away.

I've got a few posts brewing on FAQs that we get about adoption. Plus, I think it's high time Tim posted a little something — ha ha. In the meantime, I'm going back to reading the newest issue of Adoptive Families magazine. — Sarah
