Sunday my friend Sarah hosted a baby shower for our family and friends. It was a lot of fun. I enjoyed seeing everyone and the baby has gotten some pretty cool stuff.
Yesterday, we had a major disappointment: Another travel group was announced, but we were not part of it. While we're so happy for the folks in our agency who'll be traveling July 11 (there's a 7/4 group, too) — including Katy — we can't help but wish it was us. Unless I'm way off, we'll for sure be in the next group... just don't know when that'll be. The good thing is that people seem to be getting through court pretty quickly in anticipation of the upcoming court closure, so there's hope! - Sarah

- Although we began talking about adoption when we first met in 2000, the process started in November 2006 with our first batch of paperwork. We were added to the official waiting list on March 14, 2007. It was estimated at that time that we'd be "matched" with a child 10-12 months from that date. 14 months later, we were referred for an almost 2-month-old baby boy on May 14, 2008. He's the most beautiful child in the entire world... seriously, he is. Join us as we - and our two dogs and one cat - embrace this life-changing event.

Oh, honey, I'm so sorry. I hope the next group (including you!) is able to travel soon. It was great to see you Sunday.
I would be wiling to be lots and lots of money that they will run travel groups back to back between now and September and that you will be in one very very soon. Doesn't mean you aren't crazy frustrated now though, I know. I promise to bring you pictures, but I bet you'll be flying to Addis while I'm flying home.
